As non-profit, we donate our time and money to rescue kittens in need. All our kitties are tested and vaccinated and any requiring special medical attention are brought back to full health. These kittens are nurtured in a warm friendly environment and are attended to with loving care. These are not wild or feral kittens they are calm, friendly and well adjusted. Time is taken with each and everyone to insure their sweet nature shines through. We love visitors and hope you will come visit our wonderful kitties and see for yourself how special they are. All of our kitties are vetted through the SouthShore Animal Hospital on Live Oak St. in Metairie. Many thanks for Dr. Chris Forstall and his wonderful staff.
Why is there an adoption fee? The adoption fee is to help cover the medical expenses that are incurred to test, de-worm vaccinate and achieve wellness for each kitty. The adoption fee does not cover all of the expenses. However, it is just enough to allow us to continue to rescue and find good homes for these precious kitties. The adoption fee may vary depending on how much has been spent to bring a kitten back to wellness. Metairie Kittens does not receive funding by any group or program. We rely solely on our own personal funds to care for and heal these sweet kitties. When you adopt from Metairie Kittens you will receive their medical records at the time of adoption.
An adoption application is required prior to approval of any kitten or cat being approved for adoption. It is important to us that all cats and kittens go to good responsible homes. We reserve the right to refuse adoption to any person. Our minimum age to adopt is 26. Feel free to review our adoption application prior to visiting the rescue. Click Here.
